PRINCE2®
Project Manager of the Future

What is PRINCE2®?

PRINCE2® is a project management method
PRINCE2® is an overall project management method with a comprehensive pro-cess model, which comprises all aspects of a project, from idea to start-up, through realisation to completion. PRINCE2® contains a planning model in which the project is divided into clear stages for detailed planning, which enables the management of the organisation to secure, on an ongoing basis, that project results are supporting the business plan and live up to the defined quality.

PRINCE2® is a management system
As a management system, PRINCE2® includes a change- and configuration control, where changes are documented and approved for optimum quality of the project results. The management system contains:

  • project organisation with a clear definition of responsibility and competencies
  • quality management integrated with the organisation’s quality management system
  • management and control of the project’s activities to secure the defined quality of the project’s results within budgeted time and finances
  • risk management, where risks are continuously identified, analysed, estimated and managed throughout the project

PRINCE2® involves all project stakeholders, e.g. project manager, project team members, steering group members and the management of the organisation, and the system uses the organisation’s existing business processes, systems and tools.
